No pics today- just an entry from my journal May5, 2010, that all moms should appreciate:
How my day was supposed to go:
Wake up; get girls ready; go to post office to mail Mother's Day gifts and cards; Drop Layla and Sophie off with Araksya so I can birthday shop for Layla while Sophie naps; come home and make pasta salad for dinner; go to Zumba workout at YMCA, come home to eat dinner, go to church for mutual.
How my day went:
Woke up; Sophie yelled at me to take her nap early because her double ear infection has not cleared up*; made Dr appointment for 10:10- forcing her to stay awake much longer than she liked; left Dr's office at 11:40, drop Layla and Sophie off; Arrive at post office 12:07pm-post office closes at 12:00pm; go shopping for Layla-find most things; meet Bella at home too late to make pasta salad for dinner-leave to pickup Layla and Sophie to go to Zumba workout-Sophie continues to be tired because she woke up early from her nap and her ears still hurt; work out about 25 min when a childcare worker at YMCA finds me to take care of Layla who had an "accident" (#2) in her panties, Layla described as "embarrassed". I arrive at the scene and Layla has poo ALL over her because before the workers could stop her she had to slide down the slide one more time. While in the bathroom cleaning her up the childcare worker comes in with Sophia to wash her because there was poo found on her hand too. While the childcare worker wondered aloud how Sophie got poo on her hand I suggested that it is from where Layla stepped seeing how Layla had poo all over her feet. At this realization the worker became alarmed that there was likely more poo all over the carpet and maybe toys too. At this point all of the children were evacuated, Childcare shut down, and HAZMAT came to clean up (OK, maybe not HAZMAT-but most of the YMCA). At this point I had had enough of my day, called it quits, headed home with a stop at McDonald's, cancelled church for my family, cleaned everyone up and sent them to bed-May tomorrow go more smoothly.
*On a side note: Sophia's double ear infection had not cleared up because, as it is now officially documented in her medical charts at HealthyKids of Gardendale, she is a "non-compliant patient" and refused to take her medicine- worse than a cat!

I am so glad you posted this on your blog. After you read it to us the other day, I was trying to tell Jim about it but I didn't do a good job remembering the details. Now we are in the hospital and waiting, and this was a fun story to read for him!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you had a tough day. Our week has been tough also!
Thank you for keeping it real...Real funny. Sorry for laughing my head off. because I've been there and done that. Isn't it nice to be able to laugh at things like that after the fact.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a better week!
